There has been much talk recently that racism is still rampant in South Africa. However the South African Institute Of Race Relations recently conducted a survey with some interesting results:
- 76% of those surveyed thought that race relations had either improved or stayed the same since 1994
- Only 15% thought that race relations had worsened.
- 91% didn’t mind what race their children’s teachers were
- 77% support merit based representative sports teams.
SAIRR concluded: “Race Relations in South Africa: Reasons for hope”
